Today I started cleaning my house, getting ready for our Christmas tree.
(My husband promised to take our son to find one this weekend.)

I had to take a break, because of my back.
(If I do too much lifting, I can really throw it out for a while and that would really suck.)

So, I decided to spend a little time decorating a little house, that I moved a new sim into.

more ahead... )

I found a neato little community today ([community profile] book_memes ) and decided to try this one...
(Oh, I need to tag some people...lol!  So, I pick [personal profile] alleliua and [personal profile] engram !)

-- What book are you currently reading?
Deja Dead, by Kath Reichs

-- How far in are you?
I'm over half way through the book. (I think I'm at page 380 or so and the book is a little over 500 pages.)

-- What's it about?
It is the first book in the Temperance Brennan series.
Brennan is a forensic anthropologist, working in Montreal when the bones of a woman are found on the grounds of an abandoned monastery.  As the story progresses, more bodies are found and Brennan becomes convinced there is a serial killer on the loose.

-- Are you enjoying it?
Yes I am.
I am a big fan of the TV show Bones (on FOX) and really wanted to read the books that inspired the series.  The book is much, much different and it did take me a bit to really 'get into' the books.  However, now that I have, I look forward to my reading time before bed!

Howdy everyone!
Hopefully people know me from my LJ (of the same username).

The reason I have started a dreamwidth journal, is the fact that I can no longer access my LJ.
I am not able to login to my account and cannot post, nor comment...
I have contacted support, but haven't heard anything back.
I have also tried clearing my cookies and cache, I updated my version of firefox and I even tried using IE to get onto my LJ. None of that worked.

So, here I am!
I discovered the wonderful import tool, so my entire journal is now here!

Anyway, this will still be mainly a sims site, with a few personal moments thrown in!
I hope everyone will still enjoy my ramblings and pictures!

Found this on several journals and just had to make one for myself!

Cheerleader-Pulverizing, Orphan-Wracking Enigma from the Legendary Labyrinth

Get Your Monster Name

I also wanted to post that I am having trouble with livejournal.
I am able to post, but I cannot get my journal to load when I am actually signed in.
The only way I can view my journal (or my friend's journals), is by not being signed in.
(I don't know if I will be able to comment or not.)
I really don't know what is wrong, but if anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate them.
(I have tried clearing my cookies and cache.  That hasn't helped.)

You don't tend to be a very adventurous person, but you do surprise everyone now and then. You have a bit of a wild side.

Good Morning!
I just wanted to post a brief message, so everyone would know that I am still alive.
I apologize for not posting more often, but my hubby has been hogging my computer time. (Really can't wait for him to head back to work.)
My RL has been a bit crazy as well...
It is summer time, so things are always busier.

You Are a White Tiger
You have a strong individualistic streak. You are unique and outspoken.
You have firm ideas of right and wrong. You will stand up for your unpopular beliefs with pride.

You believe that learning the truth is important. Even if it's ugly, uncomfortable, or awkward.
You give it to people straight, and you expect them to do the same. You can't stand ambiguity of any kind.

Sorry I haven't been around much, but I should get some time to play my game this weekend. (I have lots to catch up on!)
cpowellscircus: (Default)
I know I haven't posted much in a few days, but I haven't been around much. (Hubby has been using the computer.)
Today I did mange to start my game, but the stupid thing began crashing once again. (I am thinking I may have to remove my downloads and figure out if there is a major problem.  Really hope I don't have to uninstall and reinstall the entire game.)

I am also posting, because I have a question...
My son's class has been having a special month of wearing (or bringing in) certain colors, clothes with pockets, etc.
Anyway at the end of the month, it is crazy hair day and I wanted to dye my son's hair a funny color.  I know it can be done with Kool-Aid and washed out quickly, but I have never personally done it.
So I was wondering if anyone that reads my journal could help me.
I would appreciate any advice!

Oh an another thing...
How do I find a layout that I can change the banner picture to one of my own images?
I've been searching for how I can do it and I cannot figure it out.
I would really appreciate the help!
cpowellscircus: (Default)
This morning I was feeling a bit creative (and bored), so I made some icons.
I would love to be able to use them all, but since I can only have 15 uploaded to my live journal account, I thought I would share them instead.
(I take no credit for the actual pictures.  I just found them on Google.)

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys them!

Feel free to use them where-ever.
Just please, save them to your computer and upload them to your own photobucket account. (I need to save my bandwidth for all my legacy photos...lol!)

cpowellscircus: (abbey)

Good afternoon folks!
After months of not being able to use our digital camera, my hubby finally got it up and running.
(The camera worked fine, but we couldn't get it to upload our photos to our computer.)
Anyway, I thought I would share some pictures of our animals!

I hope everyone had a great, safe evening of celebration!
My hubby and I didn't do much...lol! (We never never do.)  I did actually make it to 12:00AM this year, though.

So, has anyone made their New Year's resolution?
I haven't really thought about mine.  Probably to lose weight (the common one) and try to work on my book.

Oh, I did want to let everyone know that the police found our truck!
We still don't know much, but when we do I will share what I can.
Looks like our year is starting to look up!!

Well, I am done for a bit...
Hope to update the Rainbow family soon!
cpowellscircus: (Default)
I'm bored once again...
I know, I know, I should be working on my Rainbow family update.  But, it is hard to get into a groove when my son is awake and running around. (He distracts me!)

Well, earlier in the week I was tagged to do this...
1.) Post about something that made you happy today even if it's just a small thing.
2.) Do this everyday for a week without fail.

I kinda failed, but I am going to post them all at once instead!

Tuesday (first day I was tagged)
--My son got to stay home from school, so I had entertainment all day long. (And I didn't have to worry about his cold getting worse, since it was freezing that day.)

--Watched the 'Nutcracker' ballet on TV. (I just adore the music in it and was thrilled I didn't miss it this year.)

--Received a very generous Christmas gift from my aunt. (It came at a very good time,  too.)

--Finished my Christmas shopping and my cold is starting to subside!

I'm not going to tag anyone specific, because of how busy this time of year can be. (Feel free to join in though if you wish!)
